Challenge Brief
A travel company is preparing its Summer 2026 holiday portfolio. Its commercial, product, marketing, and customer advisory teams need a clear way to compare destinations, understand package cost drivers, and match different traveller segments with suitable holiday options.
In the FP20 Analytics ZoomCharts Challenge 40, participants are tasked with using a detailed summer holiday dataset to build an interactive Power BI travel analytics dashboard that supports confident, data-driven decisions.
The goal is to create a decision-ready report that helps business users evaluate holiday packages, identify attractive destination and customer-segment combinations, and balance affordability, travel convenience, weather, visitor pressure, and traveller preferences.
Step into the role of a Travel Data Analyst. Your responsibility is to help a travel company turn a large set of possible holiday combinations into useful commercial intelligence and relevant customer recommendations.
Your analysis should show where the strongest package opportunities may exist, what drives the final holiday price, and how the most suitable choice changes according to the traveller, departure point, trip duration, accommodation preference, and holiday priorities.
The Summer 2026 Holiday Dataset contains 13 sheets and approximately 12,029 data rows. It covers 21 destinations across Spain, Portugal, France, and Italy, with travel originating from London, Manchester, Dublin, Berlin, and Amsterdam.

FP20 Analytics Challenge 40 is delivered in collaboration with ZoomCharts, giving participants an opportunity to practise building interactive Power BI reports that help business users explore data quickly and intuitively.
Each report is evaluated based on three main criteria: Intuitiveness, Interactivity, and Insightfulness. These factors ensure that the report is accurate, functional, user-friendly, and ready to be presented to end users.
How clear and easy is the report to understand at a glance?
How engaging and seamless is the report exploration experience?
How accurate, complete, and meaningful is the data for decision-making?
Total possible score: 45 points. A strong submission should be easy to understand, smooth to explore, and rich enough to support meaningful decisions.
